Follow Up

Ok, I thought this would be a pretty fitting follow up to my posts on the Majesty of God (or "How Big God is and How Small We Are").  I don't know how many people have seen Prince of Egypt, it's a great movie and I'd recomend it to everyone.  For those not in the know, its about Moses and brining the Israelites out of Egypt.  The scene of Moses talking to the burning bush is really well done and powerful, and I just wanted to share it since it nicely caps out this idea that we are so insignificant compared to the God we serve.  So, hopefully this works and you can watch it right here.  Pay attention right around 3:20:

How awesome is that?  The look on Moses' face when God says, "And so unto Pharaoh I shall send...you" is absolutely priceless, not for its comical value, but for the fact that it so perfectly captures what could be any of our reactions when we receive that word from God.  God says "Go" and we kinda look at Him and say "Who...me?"  Moses even comes out and says, "Whoa, back up a second, they won't listen to me, I can't do this, I'm sorry but you've chosen the wrong guy".

Cue flash of blinding light, perhaps a small glimpse of God's Glory.

"WHO MADE MAN'S MOUTH?  WHO MADE THE DEAF, THE MUTE, THE SEEING AND THE BLIND?  DID NOT I?  NOW GO!"

Wow.  I get chills watching it.  It also helps remind me that it is not my place to question the Lord of the Universe when He tells me that He has something for me to do.  Just as a new recruit, when told by a Drill Instructor to jump, should ask "how high", I, when told by my King and Creator to go, should ask "how far".  I hope that I will continually remember this.  Alright, that's all.  I'm thinking one of my next posts will actually delve into the namesake of this blog, namely being a Warrior-Poet, so keep an eye out for that.  So, goodnight to everyone reading, and may the Peace of our Lord and Savior be with you all.
